‘Pushed by an angel’:

Boy saves falling baby brother

9-year-old boy says “an angel pushed him” to rush into a room to catch his 11-month old brother falling off a changing table (video)

A 9-year-old Florida boy says an “angel pushed” him to catch his baby brother as the baby fell off a changing table and nearly smacked his head on the hardwood floor.

A dramatic nursery video of the Sept 29 incident captures the moment:

Tila Levi, a mother of five children in Bal Harbour, Florida, told ABC News she hadn’t posted the video to Facebook until last week because she was “embarrassed” about the incident, which happened on Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.

Levi’s husband sent the video to family members and friends, telling them the family was “starting the year off with a miracle.”

Before the incident, Levi had been changing 11-month-old Eitan’s diaper. She was distracted by her 6-year-old son, Zion, who needed help with his homework.

When Levi turned away, baby Eitan rolled to the  edge of the table and plummeted over the edge.

But before the baby could hit the ground, 9-year-old Joseph – who had been in another room and just happened to be walking by – lunged to save Eitan, preventing his head from hitting the floor.

When Levi discovers what had happened, she embraces her sons. Eitan was OK, she said. But Joseph was “shaken up” and “surprised” that he was able to catch his 30 lb. brother, even though he normally has trouble lifting him.
Joseph said he felt like an “angel pushed” him to catch the baby, according to his mother.

Levi told ABC News she finally decided to publish the video to Facebook last week after Election Day because many people were “so angry and so mean to each other on Facebook” and she wanted to “change the tone of the day.” Levi said parents should be “grateful” for every bit of time they have with their kids.

“We all experience miracles every day,” she said.

Levi said she and her husband have viewed the video hundreds of times to determine what they can do to prevent an incident like that from occurring again.

“My baby had an angel by his side,” she told ABC. “Thank God it was a happy ending.”

Levi said she shared her story because she knows other parents have similar experiences every day.

“My message is to parents: Enjoy your kids,” she said. “Protect them as much as you can. At the end of the day, in a second, everything can change.”
