This year, the world commemorates the anniversaries of two key events in the development of the global monetary system. The first is the creation of the International Monetary Fund at the Bretton Woods conference 75 years ago. The second is the advent, 50 years ago, of the Special Drawing Right (SDR), the IMF’s global reserve asset.
When it introduced the SDR, the Fund hoped to make it “the principal reserve asset in the international monetary system.” This remains an unfulfilled ambition; indeed, the SDR is one of the most underused instruments of international cooperation. Nonetheless, better late than never: turning the SDR into a true global currency would yield several benefits for the world’s economy and monetary system.
The idea of a global currency is not new. Prior to the Bretton Woods negotiations, John Maynard Keynes suggested the “bancor” as the unit of account of his proposed International Clearing Union. In the 1960s, under the leadership of the Belgian-American economist Robert Triffin, other proposals emerged to address the growing problems created by the dual dollar-gold system that had been established at Bretton Woods. The system finally collapsed in 1971. As a result of those discussions, the IMF approved the SDR in 1967, and included it in its Articles of Agreement two years later.

I’ve been playing with computers since the late 1980s and I never came across a computer that could think or even come close to thinking. So who has these AI computers? What I have experienced is cleaver programming that mimics thinking like a parrot…simulated thinking. I note that self-driving cars have dropped off the edge of the world because they don’t work. Quantum computers are ordinary computers that simulate what a quantum computer should do. Note the SHOULD, because there are so many quantum theories that no one understands. Just like relativity no one understands it because it’s BS. I do agree with Musk on one thing – the human computer interface is the best option for a thinking android. It may be possible to have extended memory but that’s it. He wants us all to connect from fear of AI – it’s a joke. People who spend their whole lives doing nothing but make money are often mentally challenged.

I would prefer you read the whole 5 pages on computers and point to the evolution of quantum computing – but maybe that’s too much to ask? Nevertheless, about half the pages I’ve written highlight the fact that physics has done nothing for the benefit of mankind for a hundred years. It is unlikely to change its unblemished record. I do realise how hard it can be for someone (like me) to overcome years of science driven-mainstream- education-brainwashing,

Thank you for taking an interest antoniatailor The answer is “no I don’t”. During my research into transistor history I came upon Russell Ohl the guy who developed crystal doping that led to the transistor’s rediscovery at Bell labs. He describes how he was required to work with a quantum scientist after having already done the necessary work. We now read in the scientific press that the transistor is thanks to quantum physics.
We also read for example that computers are thanks to Alan Turing when a little research will tell us that his involvement in computers was minimal as is the claim that he was an outstanding code breaker etc.
I no longer trust science because I have read the history of a science with a need to manufacture its own heroes.

As far as I know, under the IBS Basel-III regulation, money shall be 100% backed by gold again, as of 2019. So far, it was partially backed by gold (less then 50%). This is why there’s been huge paper money printing. This is a recent development. I can’t find the link but it’s on the Internet (financial news).

On the other hand, that reference you make to the date 4-14-19, “Palm Sunday”, may be valid for some and not for others. In the Eastern Orthodox part of the world, Palm Sunday is on a different date 😊 How about that?
