The Stillness is every night now. All of our nighttime vistors (raccoons, possums, birds) have gone. It was at the same time so I want to believe they transitioned. Then, it sounds like a tropical area about 3:30am from all the birdsong. Strange thing is it lessens as the day progresses until.dark.
Our 17 year cicadas are out for their 6 week courtship and their love song is beautiful. Some find it and them creepy. Cicadas are about 2 inches long with wings and red eyes but harmless. Their song sounds like a rain stick.to me. This year the local groundhog brought out her 5 babies and the squirrels brought out their brood. The squirrels are passing on their bad behavior of raiding the birdfeeder. We put in extra for that reason. Nature feels the changes too. We try to be patient and share the reason why. They are doing the best they can and so are we. Love to all OOTWx-er. ❤ Thanks for the reminder.

We all dance together…2 legged, 4 legged, winged, finned and standing (plant) people along with all of Creation. It is a stress reliever when you acknowlege a pleasant gathering and have fun. 😊

@Antonia…I tried to reply earlier but got kicked out somehow. Yes, we have had the Stillness for some time off and on. Now it is every night from about 10pm to 3am. Around that time the birdsong explodes for a few hours. It’s odd getting used to it but now we expect it. Our cicadas only come every 17 years. The first time I encountered them, I wasn’t thrilled but my perspective has changed much since then. I am enjoying their song. I am so glad you are commenting more. You ask great questions and so I am able to get answers to questions I didn’t know I had! Thank you so much. Sharing is caring! ❤❤❤

@Michelle wow didn’t know that about nthn cicadas, they come every summer here, some yrs more than others(some here have 7yr cycle and live 17yrs) do they get loud there?(and where you are antonia ?). they have been recorded at over 130db’s here and the hotter it gets the louder they do it can be really over powering even having almost to shout some days lol,anyway hope you guys are well and enjoying in the stillness:)

Hey Latcho! Yes, our cicadas live underground for 17 years and in that year they emerge from the ground to find their lovies. They lay eggs, the larva go underground to start the cycle again. I think they may go underground because of the cold winters. I saw your post for MR a whole ago. He remains in shorts all year unless he needs to wear something else. Lol. Hope you are all doing well. Sending love and waiting for the time we can all meet! That will be a nice time. ❤
